A
good friend of mine likes defining Paris
as "a well-organized big chaos"
and I think that his original definition
of the ville lumière conveys
perfectly the idea of what this amazing
city represents.
Paris is a cultural melting pot,
an ethnical mosaic where different races
and people live together in a magical
balance.
This charming and fragile balance represents
a prodigious miracle to the eyes of
the visitor who discovers Paris for
the first time.
Paris is an eternal city, to discover
and to explore, to taste, to love and
to enjoy.
The city of lights assembles several
communities contributing actively to
the growth and the dynamic creativity
of itself.
Hemingway, who lived in Paris during
his youth, said "If you are
lucky enough to have lived in Paris
as a young man, then whenever you go
for the rest of your life, it stays
with you, for Paris is a moveable feast."
This sentence of the famous American
writer resumes cleverly and poetically
the real meaning of living in Paris:
to live in Paris means allowing Paris
to become a part of you forever.
People who have the chance of living
in Paris, and also all the ones who
just visited it during a holiday, have
certainly felt in love for this multiform
and colourful creature.
Once the charm of Paris has penetrated
into your soul, it will never quit it
and it will spread quickly to every
single cell of your spirit and Paris…will
be a part of you.
To visit Paris during a holiday means
discovering the sweetest and most romantic
city of the planet, appreciating his
worldwide famous reputation of city
of love and enjoying a unique experience.
To live in Paris allows you to seize
also the hidden and mysterious faces
of this city: Paris becomes, as all
the big cities, a chaotic and crowded
place; you will also grab, behind the
sparkles, the negative aspects of the
city of lights and the several idiosyncrasies
and limits of French people.
I live in Paris since 2003 and I have
created this website to share my knowledge
and my suggestions with everyone who
loves Paris.
This websites is dedicated to all the
ones who felt in love with Paris, who
live in Paris or who only visited it
once, who dream to come at least once
in life or who would like to come back.
The following web pages contain information
and suggestions about visiting and discovering
this gorgeous city. I hope this will
be helpful for you.
Have a nice Paris!
