Dante
Alighieri
Founded
in 1880 by the poet Giosué Carducci,
the association “Dante Aligheri”
is the oldest association promoting
the Italian language and culture.
It is a prestigious organization, present
in about 60 countries with 3300 school
and 500 committees, proposing high-quality
language courses and linguistic holidays
in Italy.
The association also offers courses
of cooking, literature, cinema, guided

Accattone
It
is a magic place for filmgoers who
love particularly the classic movies
of the Italian cinema: Fellini, De
Sica, Antonioni, Visconti and above
all Pasolini.
It’s no accident that the cinema
is called “Accattone”:
it is named after the popular movie
of Pasolini, the Italian moviemaker
who died before his time.
It is not an Italian cinema but a
European cinema oriented on Italian
movies.
Since 1996, the cinema organizes a
contest to award the Pier Paolo Pasolini
prize.
